The wind, the fish and the ramparts
Essaouira is the counterpoint to Marrakech: breezy, white and blue, facing the Atlantic. The medina is a UNESCO World Heritage site, the harbour is still a working port, and the fish is grilled in front of you, picked from the stall.
Departure from Marrakech
We leave around 8am, crossing argan plateaus where you can sometimes spot goats up in the trees.
Argan cooperative
A stop at a women’s cooperative to see argan oil being produced by hand.
Essaouira
Arrival around 11am. A walk along the ramparts, the harbour and the medina, followed by free time.
Return
We leave in the late afternoon, arriving back in Marrakech around 7.30pm.

It is, and most people do. If you want to enjoy the late afternoon and dinner in the medina, we suggest one night in town.
The visit is accompanied by the driver-guide. A licensed local guide for the medina can be added.
