DAY 1: AIRPORT - CASABLANCA
Upon your arrival. Your local driver guide will meet you and then escort you to your hotel.
DAY 2: CASABLANCA - RABAT
Today we are going to start our trip with a city tour. We will visit the Hassan II mosque, the largest religious building in the country (with a 210m high minaret). It is one of the few mosques open to non-Muslims, so here you will have the option to visit the interior and see the
incredible work by over 10,000 artisans. From here we will take you to the country's capital Rabat to see the beautiful courtyard of the royal palace and Challah, Roman ruins and remains of 14th century Merinid tombs.
DAY 3: RABAT – CHEFCHAOUEN
In the morning, we will see the unfinished mosque of Hassan and the mausoleum of Mohammed V, as well as OudayaKasbah, a fortress used by the Almoravids to prepare troops before launching their attacks on Spain.
After that, we will head to Chefchaouen, passing through the picturesque forest area of SidiKasim. We'll drop you off at your hotel and you'll be free to explore the city at night. Dinner is provided.
DAY 4 : CHEFCHAOUEN VISIT
On our third day of 15 days Imperial Cities of Morocco and Sahara Desert, we will visit Chefchaouen as it is a charming city located between two mountains. The name is Berber, and in English it means “horns”. It was recently added to the world heritage by UNESCO in 2010. Today will be spent exploring the city and surrounding areas.
Chefchaouen is sometimes called “The Blue City” because all of the city's buildings are painted a vibrant blue with white. Built on a hillside with small winding streets, this combination with the color blue offers incredible photo opportunities. The local people are welcoming and dress in clothing styles special to this area. Very close to the town there is a spring, watermill and some hikes that we can explore if you are interested!
In the evening we will take you to the main square to enjoy dinner at a local spot and watch the nightlife
DAY 5: CHEFCHAOUEN – VOLUBILIS – MEKNES - FES
Departure to Meknes in the morning. We will drive through green hills and cereal fields. Along the way, we'll stop at Volubilis, the best-preserved Roman ruins in Morocco. A guided tour inside the Roman site will take you back to the myths of Rome through the impressive mosaic, streets, columns and baths.
Nearby is the ancient village of Moulay Driss Zerhoune, where the founder of the first Islamic Arab dynasty in Morocco is buried.
After lunch, we head to Fez. Once here we will take you to the north tower to give you a beautiful panoramic view of Fez so you are oriented for your full day tour the next day. We can use the remaining time in the afternoon to see more sites in Fez and, Imperial Cities of Morocco.
DAY 6: EXPLORE FES
the city of the eighth century. You'll travel back in time to the city's medieval period and see that people still work in small narrow streets, using small stalls to sell their traditional handicrafts. Along the way, you'll pass donkeys laden with supplies, heading down cobbled walkways. Lunch will be taken at one of the many cafes in the city.
The medina of Fez is rich in its Islamic monuments: the fascinating old mosques, the University of El-Karaouiyine and its libraries. All these elements made Fez the intellectual and cultural capital of the country in the past, and now make it a wonderful city to explore and learn.
DAY 7: FES – IFRANE – MIDELT – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA DESERT
Today we will head towards the Middle Atlas Mountains. We will take a driving break in Ifrantown, a famous ski resort in Morocco that was established during the French protectorate. Lunch will be in Medelt, known for its best apple production in Morocco. After a photo stop in Zizvalley (the beginning of palm and date groves), our day ends in Merzouga, the gateway to the desert. As it can be hot here in the afternoon, this will be the perfect time for a swim at the hotel!
DAY 8: MERZOUGA – ERG CHEBBI – DESERT CAMP
Erfoud is the capital of fossils in Morocco, so you will have the chance to visit one of the workshops where they make beautiful marble articles. We will drive to Erg Chebbi, have a cup of tea and pack for our desert camping experience. In the afternoon we will meet our camels and take a camel ride in time to watch the sunset over the Sahara sand dunes. Tonight you will sleep in the desert in a Berber tent.
DAY 9 : SAHARA DESERT - TINJDAD - TODRA GORGES - DADES VALLEY
Wake up early to watch the sunrise and then enjoy breakfast, we will continue our tour to Tineghir via Rissani, Erfoud, Tinejdad, reaching Todra gorges. We will explore the Todra gorges and walk through this magnificent rocky mountain valley, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant. From here we continue to Boumalne Dades through the center of Todra. Late afternoon arrival Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
DAY 10 : DADES VALLEY - SKOURA VALLEY - KASBAH AMERIDIL - OUARZAZATE
After having breakfast at the hotel, we will drive through the Dades Valley, which is a fascinating part of the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. We will stop at Kalaa-Mgouna, "the city of roses", famous for its annual rose festival, to buy rose water and many local cosmetic products.
Continuing on to Skoura and the valley of the bird, where the main features are the mud-brick Kasbahs, especially the Kasbah of Ameridil, a well-preserved Kasbah in this area. After some walks in the valley, you will have lunch at a restaurant overlooking the entire valley. The tour continues to Ouarzazate, "the Hollywood of Africa", whose geography and beautiful landscapes have attracted many filmmakers worldwide. Here you can choose to visit the studios, containing props used in films you may have already seen, such as The Mummy, Gladiator.
You will have the chance to see the Kasbah of Taourirt against the backdrop of Hollywood (Sheltering Sky, Gladiator and Prince of Persia) during your overnight stay at the Riad.
DAY 11 : AIT BEN HADDOU - TIZIN'TICHKA - TELOUET KASBAH - BIG ATLAS
Waking up in the middle of the desert and seeing the color of the city change as the day progresses is so refreshing; After breakfast, we will dive into the UNESCO-protected Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, one of the most beautiful in the region. The Kasbah offers magnificent views of the surrounding palm trees, before heading to Marrakesh via the tizin'tichka pass. visit the town of Telouet and its ancient Kasbah from the 17th century; then we will continue to explore the tIzin'tichka road, especially the great landscape of berber villages. In the afternoon, in Marrakech, you can have free time to walk around Djemâa El-Fna and enjoy its charm and have your drinks while enjoying the view at the rooftop restaurants. We will stay overnight at our local riad in Marrakech
DAY 12 - EXCURSION TO ESSAOUIRA
After breakfast in your riad, we will start visiting Essaouira, one of the most beautiful coastal towns in Morocco and its preserved seaport fortifications from the 18th century have been stamped with a UNESCO World Heritage list.
Your own fully qualified guide will allow you to experience Essaouira at its best.
